Softening the Pea Coat

I’ve long preferred the look of women in menswear. It’s down-to-earth and yet still beautiful. While some pieces translate literally, others often require a more feminine touch. The military styling and rugged undertones of the classic pea coat can feel too masculine for women despite often being cut in a cropped silhouette. Simply swapping the traditional metal anchor buttons for knotted leather buttons like my girlfriend did here softens it altogether...even when you are popping that generous collar.

If you are looking at the buttons, you are missing it. Beautiful woman.

I’ve seen a few posts on switching out the plastic buttons for shiny/brass ones. Too flashy or delightfully different?

I have one with a fur collar and it gives it a softer look… I love pea coats! Www.pinkjulepabroad.com
